The 40th door (2008)

The events in the film take place in the early 1990s in a settlement located 40 km from Baku. The residents of the settlement call their settlement “Fortieth Gate”. 14-year-old Rustam, who lives in the settlement, receives news of the death of his father, who had gone to Moscow in search of a living wage. Rustam and his mother struggle to survive in those difficult years.

The film project was the winner of the AVANTI program of the Swiss FOCAL Agency and received a prize of 50 thousand US dollars (2004).
