Elmira Shabanova (Elmira Huseynova) was born in Baku.

She studied at the Azerbaijan State Institute of Arts, Faculty of Acting (1958-1962) and Directing (1969).

She worked at the Azerbaijan State Russian Drama Theater (1990-1993).

She taught at the Azerbaijan State Institute of Arts (1962-1997).

Honored Artist (2000), People's Artist (2006).

Actress Elmira Shabanova was the wife of director Rufat Shabanov.
Actress Elmira Shabanova is the mother of director Fuad Shabanov.
