The festival was founded in 1994. The festival sought to restore weakened ties between the peoples and nations that once shared the same territory - the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia. The first festival took place in 1995. After a one-year break, in 1998 the festival began to gather more and more films and television programs from Europe and other parts of the world.
