Family (1998)

The film tells the story of the collapse of a once large and strong family against the backdrop of the collapse of the Soviet empire.

The end of the 1980s marked the beginning of the end of the Soviet era. The first “fire” was “lit” by Armenian nationalists. They put forward their territorial claims to Nagorno-Karabakh. The Kremlin elite preferred to remain silent instead of expressing its attitude to this issue. Thus, Azerbaijanis were forcibly expelled from Armenia, from their ancestral homeland.

The opening credits of the film: "Baku. 1990. Up to 300 thousand Azerbaijanis have already been forcibly expelled from their permanent places of residence in Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh. A wave of protests has swept across Azerbaijan."

The closing credits of the film: A few days later, reserve forces of the Soviet army were deployed to Baku. According to official information, on the night of January 19-20, 1990, these forces killed 193 civilians. Among them were women, the elderly, and children. Great blood was shed... Today the number of refugees in Azerbaijan has reached 1 million."

The film was shot on both video and film.

The film was commissioned by "Azerkinovideo".
