Panfiliya Tanailidi was born in the village of Basarkechar, Zangezur district.

She is of Pontic Greek origin by nationality. Her family came here from the Turkish city of Kars and after living for a while, they moved to Tbilisi. She skillfully danced various rhythmic dances from childhood. From the age of fourteen, she performed under the pseudonyms "Zangezurskaya" and "Sureyya" in large halls of Tbilisi, such as the Kazyonny Theater and the "People's House" named after Zubalov, in performances prepared by various amateur theater troupes, held by Azerbaijanis. She played in performances on tours in Iran and Turkey with the troupes organized by Mustafa Mardanov and Mirseyfeddin Kirmanshahli. During this period, she came to Baku in different years and played in performances as part of various theater groups.

She was one of the founders of the Tbilisi State Azerbaijan Theater.

In 1925, she joined the troupe of the National Drama Theater.

The repression of the era of personality cult that raged in 1937 did not spare him either. He was arrested on the night of December 15-16.

He was shot in Baku on October 15, 1938. He has no grave. He was acquitted in 1957.
