Elkhan Jafarov

Elkhan Jafarov was born in Baku.
He studied at the Acting Faculty of the All-Union State Institute of Cinematography (1984-1990, Alexey Batalov's course).
At a young age, he participated in various children's films as an actor. He starred in the main role - Prince Delikhyar Surambuka - in the children's film of Russian film producers "Get Ready, Your Majesty" (1978, director Vladimir Popkov). For some time he worked as an actor at the Azerbaijan State Drama Theater and the "Yug" Theater (1990-1992). He was the artistic director of the "Prolog" studio under the Azerbaijani television (1995-1997). In 1995, he made his first short film, and later made various clips and commercials. Currently, he works as a director. He was awarded the Golden Fairy award in the nomination "Best Directorial Work" for the film "Holo" (2015), and in the nomination "Best Audiovisual Work Dedicated to the 100th Anniversary of the Republic" for the film "9 Pictures of the Republic" (2018). He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Azerbaijan Film Directors Guild.
He is an Honored Artist (2016).
