Alakbar Huseynzade was born in Baku.
He began his stage career in 1908. At the initiative of stage teacher Samad bey Hajialiyev, he appeared on stage in the role of Molla Jabi in the play "Greed Wins the Enemy" (Vasag Madatov) staged by Najaf bey Vezirov. Since 1909, he has been an active participant in the plays directed by Huseyn Arablinski, and in 1915-1916, in the Ashgabat tours of Azerbaijani artists. For a while, he worked at the Ashgabat Theater (Ashgabat State Azerbaijan Musical Theater, 1916-1930, intermittently), later at the Azerbaijan Turkish Workers' Theater, and the Opera and Ballet Theater.
The image of Soltan bey, which he created in the operetta "Arshin mal alan", occupies a special place in his work. He performed this role 600 times in the theater and twice in the cinema. His performance was highly appreciated by the Azerbaijani and Russian press even before the revolution, as well as by Uzeyir Hajibeyov.
Honored Artist (1957), laureate of the USSR State Prize (1946), Alakbar Huseynzadeh died in 1967.
