Hasan Mammadov (Abulhasan Mammadov) was born in Salyan.
He studied at the Acting Faculty of the Azerbaijan State Institute of Arts (1958-1962, Mehdi Mammadov's course).
During his student years, he worked as an announcer at the State Radio with some breaks (1960-1961). He worked at the Drama Theater (1962-1972). Since 1972, he has been an actor at the "Azerbaijanfilm" film studio. Since 1992, he has worked at the Academic National Drama Theater again.
He has played the role of Kazim bey in the film "Chaos" (1973, director Laert Vagarshyan / Armenia) by foreign film producers, as Kreshimir in the film "Sold Laughter" (1981, director Leonid Nechayev / Belarus), as "Don't Shoot at Me!" (183, directors Muqtal Mahmudov, Abdusalom Rahimov / Tajikistan) in the role of Hafiz, in the film “The Interviewed Man” (1986, director Yuri Marukhin / Belarus), in the role of a Hindu in the film “Peter Pan” (1987, director Leonid Nechayev / Belarus), in the film “Sultan Beybars” (1989, director Bulat Mansurov / Kazakhstan, Egypt).
Hasan Mammadov, Honored Artist (1971), People's Artist (1982), laureate of the USSR (1981) and Azerbaijan State Prize (1986), died in 2003 and was buried in the II Alley of Honor.
