International Film School
Years of activity: 2007-2010
The International Film School of the Azerbaijan Union of Filmmakers (higher course for directors and scriptwriters) was established by the AUF in 2007.
The main goal of establishing the film school is to increase the interest of young people in cinematography, prepare new highly professional personnel in the field of cinematography, and discover talents. The school trained specialists in 4 specialties: film director, film playwright, film critic, producer (since 2008, cinematography has also been added to these specialties). As a result of cooperation with world cinema celebrities and international organizations, trainings were periodically organized within the framework of the educational process.
In general, since 2007, master classes for students have been held by film professionals - director, producer Krzysztof Zanussi, director, producer Jan Sverak, documentary film director Georgi Khaindrava, screenwriter Pavel Finn, director Gleb Panfilov, actress Inna Churikova, journalist, screenwriter Oleg Panfilov, film critic, TV presenter, journalist, educator Kirill Razlogov, film critic and translator Elena Razlogova, director, producer and screenwriter Vitaly Kanevsky, Columbia University professor, documentary film expert Peggy Weil, professionals from the Los Angeles Film School and world-famous film personalities. The permanent education of the International Film School was closed in September 2010 due to lack of funds. Currently, training is continued in the form of courses.
