PRESENTATION OF THE FILM “KHOJALI. THE LAST WEDDING…” WAS HELD
On March 12, the presentation of the documentary-feature film “Khojaly. The Last Wedding…” was held at the Nizami Cinema Center. The project manager of the film is Elnur Abdullayev, Chairman of the Board of Directors of “Global Media Group”, the scriptwriter is Niyam Shirinov, and the director is Yusif Alakbarzade. The film, produced by “Global Media Group” and “Report” News Agency, tells the true story of an unfinished wedding in Khojaly 32 years ago.
The head of the Report News Agency, the film's producer Fuad Huseynaliyev stated that the idea of the film was based on a wedding photo taken many years ago and said: "The main plot of the screen work is based on the fact that the family and the guests at that wedding, who returned to Khojaly many years later, continue the unfinished wedding. We investigated and found the groom and bride - Vasif Gafarov and Durdana Mammadova, and listened to the events they experienced. That wedding was not held in the traditional manner, "Vagzali" was not played. Because the next Armenian attack was approaching. We decided that after the liberation of Khojaly from occupation, we would bring together the wedding participants and complete this ceremony and leave a mark in history." The real footage of the film was filmed in Khojaly, and the fictional part was filmed in Agsu.
