WINNERS OF AUF'S "I AM A WOMAN" FULL-LENGTH FILM SCRIPT COMPETITION HAVE BEEN DETERMINED

The jury of the Azerbaijan Union of Filmmakers's "I am a Woman" full-length feature film script competition has concluded its work.
It should be noted that one of the main goals of the competition was to increase the number of scripts that fully convey the image of a modern Azerbaijani woman, increase the activity of female authors, and call for harmony in gender relations in our society.
The chairman of the jury of the competition, Vidadi Hasanov, and members of the jury, Nadir Badalov, Vagif Azeryar, and Sevda Sultanova, selected 71 of the 96 scripts that entered the competition for the final. It is important to note that this year, compared to previous years, the number of female authors applying to the competition is the same as that of male authors. One of the goals of the competition organizers was to increase the activity of female authors.

We announce the winners of the “I am a Woman” full-length screenplay competition:
1st place – Rustam Babazadeh, Ali-Sattar Guliyev “The Bride”
2nd place – Chinara Alishli “On Foot to the Vizier”
3rd place – Samad Aghayev “The Lights of the Neighboring House”

In addition, 3 scripts were awarded diplomas by the jury.
Haji Safarov “Nigar's House” (For a successful dramaturgical structural solution of a current social problem)
Intigam Hajili “A Girl Looking for a Job” (For a courageous artistic solution in expressing the drama of a female character facing social problems)
Ulviyya Heydarova “Zulf” (For a successful artistic solution of the relationship between family happiness and civic duty)

The Secretariat of the Union of Cinematographers of Azerbaijan considers the script competition a mechanism that can influence the development of our national cinema, and for this purpose plans to hold script competitions with various themes and formats every year.
It should be noted that the winners will be awarded with a diploma and a cash prize. (I place – 5000 AZN, II place – 3500 AZN, III place – 2500 AZN)
