“QIFIL” – A BLACK COMEDY BASED ON REALITY
The film "Lock", which is currently in the preparation stage of filming, is in the black comedy genre and attracts attention with its unusual plot line. The main idea of the film is based on the belief in fortune telling and its impact on society. The film's director and screenwriter Tahir Tahirovich states that this story is taken from an incident that occurred in his personal life. About thirty years ago, a close relative of the director wanted to get married, but did not have the means. This person, pinning his hopes on fortune telling, wants to throw the "enchanted" lock given by the fortune teller into the yard of the girl he loves in order to prolong the wedding. However, the plan does not go as expected, the lock "falling from the sky" accidentally hits the girl's grandmother. This real and somewhat absurd event has become the main plot line of the film "Lock".
The "Lock" project is one of the winners of the pitching held by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2022, and the filming of the film will start in the near future with the support of the Film Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The shooting of this black comedy, which is scheduled to run for 62 minutes, is planned to be held in Shamakhi and Oghuz regions and will last for 10 days. The participation of Shamil Suleymanov, Seljan Khatun, Azad Shukurov and Zaur Manafov in the film's cast has been confirmed, and the selection process for other roles is still ongoing.
The film's creative team consists of director Tahir Tahirovich, second director Ilgar Guliyev, cameraman Rafig Aliyev, composer Lala Ahmadova and creative producer Irada Bagirzade.
