NEW CRIME DRAMA SERIES TO BE BROADCAST ON PUBLIC TELEVISION IN 2026

In 2026, viewers will be able to watch a new multi-part feature film on Public Television: MICRORY. The 12-part series, produced in the crime drama genre, is a joint production of SFN Production and Public Television. Each episode is 50 minutes long.
The project's chief producer is Sevinj Aliyeva, the production director is Gulu Asgarov, and the scriptwriter is Garay Hasan. The visual solution of the series is the responsibility of the production operator Vasif Velizadeh, and the production artist Vugar Gurbanov is responsible for the scenery and general art solution.
The film, which tells the story of five childhood friends who grow up together and join the criminal world, stars many well-known actors: Eltekin Khan, Ulvi Hashim, Orkhan Iskanderli, Elshan Askerov, Gudrat Fatulla, Masma Aslangizi, Elshan Rustamov, Tarana Ojagverdiyeva, Oktay Mehtiyev, Natavan Geybani, Zulfiya Gurbanova, Shovgi Huseynov, Zemfira Abdulsamadova, Abbas Gahraman, Fidan Bayram and other actors.
On the twentieth day of filming, the director of the series, Gulu Askerov, answered the questions of the kinoinfo.az website.

– You are known more for your work in the drama genre. How close did it come to you to shoot a crime drama this time? Do you feel comfortable in this genre?
– As a genre, I love all genres except fantasy. The crime genre, since the area where I live and grew up is full of criminal incidents, I have no difficulty in the script, filming, or acting in this genre.

– When you first heard the idea of the project and read the script, what attracted you to accept the directorship?
– The idea of the series was first told to me by producer Sevinj Aliyeva. I found it interesting because there are five children with different destinies here, they have five different paths. But most of all, it was interesting because this is not a series written just to keep the audience interested. It is a series with many messages underneath. Maybe it can be a textbook for teenagers and parents. That is why I am filming it. Hopefully, we plan to finish filming by the end of December.

– What are the main difficulties you faced during the filming process? Which scenes tested you the most?
– There are always difficulties during the filming process, every day is difficult. This is not a job that we approach lightly. Each of our series is like a feature film, at least the whole team approaches it this way. That's why it's hard every day, we're tested every day. Problems arise, we solve them. I think that without difficulties, work wouldn't be good. Difficulties should always be there. Hopefully, God will reward our work.

– What genres do you plan to work in in the future? In what genre is it interesting to try yourself as a director?
– I would like to make a comedy in the future. It could be a tragicomedy. I like tragicomedies more. I've used them in some places in this series, so even though it's a crime drama, there are also comedic events in it. As I said, I like all genres except science fiction. I've also made melodramas. It's mainly a drama, but I'd like to make a comedy as well.

– What will be the most different aspect of this series for the audience? What should the audience be ready to see?
– I don't know what the most different aspect of this series will be for the audience, because we have different audiences. There are some viewers who sit and watch carefully, and learn something from it. There are viewers who watch it to have a good time. There are also those who look for mistakes. There are plenty of them. I don't know, everyone will probably learn something for themselves. It will be something different, of course. Whether it's the acting or the image - these will be different for us. As I said, each of our series is like a feature film. It should be watched carefully, because if something is overlooked, it may not be understood. Everything is so interconnected that if something is overlooked, it may be necessary to watch it again.

– What difficulties or additional opportunities does managing this large cast create for you? How was the distribution of roles formed?
– I don't have any difficulties managing the cast, because we have certain experience. There is no difficulty here, on the contrary, people enjoy it. That's our job. In general, for me, it is important to work with the actor before the mise-en-scène. If the actor is weak, if he doesn't play convincingly, no matter what you do, it won't turn out well. Therefore, I don't have any difficulties in this regard. All of our actors come prepared and all of them can see themselves in the distribution of roles. I had approved certain actors, and later it turned out that such things really happened in their destinies. This influenced their portrayal of their characters.
The main difficulty was in the character of Bahar, who plays the mother of the main character. But there is such an issue that we have five main characters - five children with different destinies. For me, they are all main characters. We had a hard time choosing the children, but it seems to me that we chose the right ones. We have been shooting for the twentieth day now and I have no problems with any of them. On the contrary, I watch their work and see that even if something changes on the set, they adapt very quickly. It is as if we are working with professional actors. They create such an impression.
