Zilli Namazov was born in the Marneuli region of Georgia.

He studied at the Cinema-Acting Faculty of the Azerbaijan State Institute of Arts (1974, Adil Isgandarov's course).

Since 1976, he has worked as an actor-director at "Azerbaijanfilm". He also worked in the television field for a long time.

He starred in the film "The Interviewed Man" (1986, director Yuri Marukhin) by foreign film producers, and in the film "Destroyed Bridges" (1996, director Rafig Puya / USA) as a border officer and was an assistant director of the film.

Honored Artist (2019) Zilli Namazov died in 2021.

Actor, director Zilli Namazov is the father of actor Ilkin Namazov.
