Zema Ahadova was born in Sukhumi, Georgia.
She studied at the Sukhumi Art School (1989) and at the Fyodor Khitruk animator-artist course under the USSR State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting (1991-1992).
She began her career as an animation artist at the Sukhumi studio (1990-1991). Since 1992, she has been working at the Birlik studio in Azerbaijan.
Animation artist Zema Ahadova is the wife of animation artist and director Javid Ahadov.
