Zalimkhan Yagub (Zalimkhan Yagubov) was born in the village of Bolus-Kepanekchi, Bolnisi district of Borchali (Georgia).
He studied at the Faculty of Librarianship of Azerbaijan State University, majoring in book merchandise (1968-1973).
He began his labor activity in 1967 as a laborer. He worked in various positions in the “Azerkitab” system as a seller, head seller, store manager (1973-1978) and in the “Voluntary Book Lovers Society” (1975-1985). He was an editor and department head in the poetry department of the “Yazichi” publishing house (1987-1994). In 1992-1995, he was engaged in freelance artistic creation. He was a deputy of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan (1995-2005). He was elected chairman of the Union of Azerbaijani Ashiqs (2008-2016). He began his literary career in 1966 with a poem titled "Shota Rustaveli" published in the "QGalaba Bayragi" regional newspaper. He has published numerous books.
People's Poet (2005), laureate of the "Shohrat" Order and the "Sharaf" Order of the Republic of Georgia, Zalimkhan Yagub died in 2016 and was buried in the Alley of Honor.
