Yashar Nuri (Yashar Nuriyev) was born in Baku. He studied at the Drama and Film Acting Department of the Azerbaijan State Institute of Arts (1968-1972, course of Rza Tahmasib and Aliheydar Alakbarov). He first appeared on stage at the age of 11 in the role of Tapdig in the play “Whose Wedding is It?” (Muharram Alizadeh) at the Azerbaijan State Musical Comedy Theater. During his school years, he was one of the hosts of the “Yelken” program on television. He regularly participated in the children's program-theaters “Buratino”, “Garangush”, “Pioneer”. He attended various drama clubs and performed in the performances of the People's Theater of the Palace of Culture named after 26. From 1971, he worked for a while at the Education Theater. In 1974, at the invitation of the chief director of the Academic National Drama Theater, Tofig Kazimov, he was accepted into the acting troupe of this collective.


He starred in the role of a yard guard in the film “The Bremen Town Musicians” (2000, directed by Alexander Abdulov / Russia) by foreign filmmakers, and in the role of police chief Shavkat in the TV series “The Weapon” (2008, directed by Alexander Kasatkin / Russia).

He was awarded the State Prize for his role in the film “Yaramaz” (1991). Winner of the “Golden Dervish” awards (1992, 1996), Honored Artist (1981), People's Artist (1989), and awarded the Order of “Glory”, Yashar Nuri died in 2012. He was buried in the Alley of Honor.

Actor Yashar Nuri is the son of actor Mammadsadig Nuriyev.
