Vagif Mammadov (Vagif Hummatoghlu) was born in the village of Duz Rasullu, Gadabay region.

He studied at the Azerbaijan Pedagogical Institute and the Azerbaijan State University, majoring in Journalism.

Since 1967, he has worked at the “Azerbaijanfilm” film studio. He was the scriptwriter and editor of the film magazines “Sovet Azerbaijan”, “Inchesanet”, “Ganj Nahla”, “Mozalan”. He worked as an editor at the “Azerbaijanfilm” film studio until the end of his life. He is the author of more than 60 scientific, popular and documentary films.

Honored Worker of Culture (2008) Vagif Mammadov died in 2015.
