Vagif Ibrahimoghlu (Vagif Hasanov) was born in the Mardakan settlement of Baku.

He studied at the Drama and Film Acting Faculty of the Azerbaijan State Institute of Culture and Art (1967-1972).

He worked as an actor at the Azerbaijan State Theater for Young Spectators (1973-1976), the Experimental Theater Studio under the Azerbaijan Theater Society (1976-1979), the artistic director at the Educational Theater (1979-1982), and the chief director at the Azerbaijan State Musical Comedy Theater (1982-1989).

He produced plays at the Azerbaijan National Academic Drama Theater, the Ankara and Bursa theaters in Turkey, and the Ugala Theater in Estonia.

From 1989 until the end of his life, he was the artistic director and chief director of the Yugh Theater.

Since 2005, he has been the chairman of the artistic and expert council of the “Narimanfilm” film studio.

He has been engaged in pedagogical activity at the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Art.

Associate Professor, laureate of the "Golden Dervish" award (1991), Honored Artist (1991) Vagif Ibrahimoghlu died in 2011 and was buried in the Mardakan cemetery.
