Vahid Mustafayev (Vahid Nakhish / Vahid Mustafa Yev) was born in Sheki.

He studied at the Azerbaijan State University of Civil Engineers.

He began his career as a correspondent in 1988. He published the magazine "Rococo" dedicated to rock music as a hand-copied monthly. He began working at the newspaper "Azerbaijan", the press organ of the Committee for Public Assistance to Karabakh, which was established in 1989. On November 26, 1991, together with Seyfulla Mustafayev and Mirshahin Aghayev, he founded Azerbaijan News Service (ANS). He led the creation and activities of all companies included in the ANS group of companies (1991-1996). He was the president of ANS Independent Broadcasting and Media Company (ANS TV) (1996-2016), and the president of ANS Group of Companies LLC (2001-2016). He is one of the founders of ANS Independent Broadcasting and Media Company (ANS TV), ANS ÇM Broadcasting and Media Company, ANS Commerce Company and ANS Press Publishing House LLC, which are participants of the ANS group of companies, as well as the companies included in the scope of ANS, and was its director at various times.

He is the founder of “VMF Natural Frequencies Company”, “Baku Film” film studio (2006), Balans National Animation Studio (2014), “Gobufilm” film studio (2017).

He currently heads the “Balans” company.

He was awarded the “Teraggi” (Progress) medal.

Director Vahid Mustafayev is the brother of journalist, actor Chingiz Mustafayev and producer Seyfulla Mustafayev.
