Vagif Gerayzadeh

Vagif Gerayzadeh was born in Baku.
He studied piano at Music School No. 4 (1971-1976), and at the Department of Mass Performance Direction of the Azerbaijan State Institute of Arts (1983-1987, 1993-1997-postgraduate studies).
He worked at the Azerbaijan State Concert Union, the Philharmonic. He was a teacher at the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts, the initiator and first head of the department of pop music.
He is the composer of many well-known songs. Some of the famous singers were his students. He was the creator of the musical groups "Aypara", "W-trio", "Sheron", the leader of the vocal groups "Stars of the East" and "Light of the East". He is a Doctor of Philosophy in Philosophical Sciences, Associate Professor, Honored Artist (2011).
