Svetlana Bulakh was born in Donetsk region.
She studied at the theater studio under the Kiev State Musical Comedy Theater as an operetta actress (1969-1971).
She worked at the Kirovohrad Russian State Musical Drama Theater named after Shevchenko (1971-1973).
In 1982, she came to Baku due to family circumstances.
Since 1983, she has been employed at the Azerbaijan State Musical Comedy Theater. In addition, she directs children's performances.
She is an Honored Artist (2015).
