Sona Aslanova was born in Baku.
She studied at the Azerbaijan State Conservatory (1952). She took lessons from the Italian Sofe Golskaya.
She performed more than 200 songs. Uzeyir Hajibeyov called her voice “The voice that captivates hearts”. For many years she was a soloist of Azerbaijan Television, the State Philharmonic and the pop orchestra.
Since graduation, she has worked as a teacher at the conservatory.
Honored Artist (1956) Sona Aslanova has lived in the United States of America since 1994. She died in Los Angeles in 2011.
