Sofa Basirzadeh (Sofiya Basirzadeh / Sofiya Vazirova) was born in the village of Kohne Chukan, Kazan province. When she was two years old, her family moved to Baku.
While at school, she became a member of the drama club. She studied at the Baku Theater School (1936-1941). Starting from 1936, she appeared on stage in mass scenes and episodic roles in the performances of the Azerbaijan Drama Theater. In 1938, she was accepted into the theater's acting troupe. She played more than 100 roles on the stage of this theater. In the last years of her life, she worked at the Municipal Theater.
Honored Artist (1955), People's Artist (1974) Sofa Basirzadeh died in 2000.
