Sharif Sharifov was born in Baku.
He studied at the Cinematography Department of the All-Union State Institute of Cinematography (1964-1970).
Since 1958, he has worked at the “Azerbaijanfilm” film studio.
Since 1993, he has taught at the Department of Cinema and Television Arts of the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Art. He is the author of the textbooks “Filmmaking Techniques” (2001), “Television and Its Technology” (2002), “Application of Computer Technology in the Production of Motion Pictures and Television Programs” (2003).
He worked as a teacher in Turkey for a while.
Laureate of the “Humay” Prize, Honored Artist (2005) Sharif Sharifov died in 2007.
