Sarvar Shahbeyli was born in Aghsu.
He studied at the Drama and Film Acting Faculty of the Azerbaijan State Institute of Arts (1984-1988).
While studying in the 3rd year, he worked as an actor at the Baku Meydan Theater. He worked as a presenter-artist (conference artist) at the Azerbaijan State Philharmonic (1988-1989). In 1989, he closely participated in the establishment of the State Youth Theater. He worked in that theater with certain breaks until 2005. In 1991, he closely participated in the establishment of the Istiglal Theater and worked in that theater for a year. He showed interest in poetry and literature since his high school years, and Agsu's poems were published in the "Birlik" newspaper. Since 1987, songs written to his poems have begun to be heard on the air. About 200 songs have been written to his lyrics, "Seni axtara-axtara" and "Hami gezir halani" are a few of them. The book "Where Does This Road Go?" (2006) was published. In 2014, an audio version of the book with the same name was presented to the audience with his performance.
He played the lead role in the Russian-made short film "Kurban" (2011).
Sarvar Shahbeyli died in Aghsu in 2016 and was buried there.
