Salam Ismayil (Salam Ismayilov / Salamulla Ismayilzadeh) was born in Ganja.

He studied at the Acting Faculty of the Azerbaijan State Institute of Arts (1974).

For a while he worked as an assistant director at the “Azerbaijanfilm” film studio (1974-1976). Since 1977 he has been working as an actor at the Ganja State Drama Theater.

He starred in the Russian-made film “Night in Chile” (1977, directors Sebastian Alarcon, Alexander Kosarev).

He was awarded the “Golden Dervish” award.

He is an Honored Artist (2015).
