Sadig Eljanli (Sadig Ibrahimov) was born in the Surra village of Davachi (Shabran). He studied at the Philology Faculty of Azerbaijan State University (1974-1979).

Since 1980, he has worked at the Azerbaijan State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company. He was the editor-in-chief of the “Azerbaijantelefilm” Creative Union (1992-1996), the editor-in-chief of the “Literature and Publicity” editorial office (1997), the editor-in-chief of the “Literary and Dramatic Broadcasts” editorial office (2006).

Since 1977, he has published works of fiction, literary criticism and journalism in various newspapers and magazines, and has been engaged in consistent journalistic activity.

He is the author of about 10 prose and journalism books.
