Rufat Karimzadeh was born in Baku.

He studied Film Directing at the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts. With the support of the US government, he acquired professional practical knowledge in film production within the framework of the USG (IVLP) “Filmmaking in USA” program. He was selected as a member of the MPV Talents Nest Program under the Vilnius International Film Festival in Lithuania.

He worked as an editor and director at “Buta Film”, “CineX”, Baku Media Center (2013-2017), Cinemazadeh (2019-2020) and Cinealliance (2021-2022). He has directed many commercials in cooperation with agencies such as DDB Azerbaijan, McCann Baku, Baku Media Center, Cinealliance Azerbaijan, Maverick, Creative Shamans, Ağıllı Nağıllar, Peoplebrand, Leo Burnett Azerbaijan.

Currently, he continues his professional activities in the field of cinema and advertising in the USA.
