Rovshan Guliyev

Rovshan Guliyev (Rovshan Javanshiroghlu / Rovshan Javanshir) was born in Baku.
He studied at Baku Technical Vocational School No. 12 as a film mechanic (1976-1977), at the Cinematography Faculty of the All-Union State Institute of Cinematography (1985-1990).
Since 1977 he began working as a camera technician at the “Azerbaijanfilm” film studio. Later, he continued his activities as an assistant cinematographer. For a while, he was an employee of Lider TV.
He taught at the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Art (2011-2017).
He won the “Best Cinematographer” nomination for the film “Kechid” at the 5th Golden Lantern National Cinematography Competition (2006), and the “Best Cinematographer” nomination for the film “Koramal” at the 3rd International “Steps to Freedom” Film Festival (2009, Ukraine).
