Rovshan Nijat (Rovshan Aliyev) was born in the village of Khoshchobanli, Imishli.

He studied at the Baku Cultural Education School (1990) and the Alexander Mitta Film School (2009).

He worked as a director at Azerbaijan Television (1992-2014), director at InterAz TV (2007-2008), project manager at Lider Television (2011-2013), artistic director at Premier Production (2013-2015), general director at Aran Film Production (2015).

He is the founder and teacher of the Motiv Film School (2016).

He participated in the First Karabakh War and filmed the battles.

He composed music on the theme of patriotism.

He is currently an employee of Azerbaijan Television.
