Rauf Aliyev (Abdurrauf Aliyev / Rafig Aliyev) was born in Shusha.

He studied at the Baku Music College named after Asaf Zeynalli (1966), and the Azerbaijan State Conservatory, specializing in composition (1975).

He worked as a music editor at the Azerbaijan State Television and Radio Broadcasting Committee (1973-1975), and as a music editor at the “Azerbaijanfilm” film studio (1975-2017). Among his works, in addition to music written for films, are Ode for Choir (1990); about 10 songs (1990-1999).

Honored Artist (2007) Rauf Aliyev died in 2017 and was buried in the Yasamal cemetery.
