Ramiz Novruz (Ramiz Novruzov) was born in the Samadabad settlement of Bilasuvar.
He studied at the Drama and Film Acting Faculty of the Azerbaijan State Institute of Arts (1974-1978, Adil Isgandarov's course).
He was assigned to the Sumgayit State Theater (1978-1981). In 1981, he joined the troupe of the Academic National Drama Theater.
He wrote several plays, two of which were staged: "The First Month of the Year of the Horse" (1992, Ganja Theater), which tells about the events of January 20, and "They Haven't Said I Love You Yet" (2002, National Drama Theater). He translated Eduardo de Filippo's "The Cylinder" and staged it as a director, and also played the role of Attillio.
He was the host of the "I Am Azerbaijani" program on Azerbaijani television.
He is a laureate of International Theater Festivals.
He played the role of Chechen commander Ramzan Salmanov in the TV series “Assassination” (2004, directed by Vadim Ostrovsky / Russia) by foreign film producers.
Honored Artist (1993), People's Artist (1998) Ramiz Novruz died in 2023.
Actor Ramiz Novruz is the father of actor and singer Javidan Novruz.
