Rafig Ibrahimov was born in Baku.

He studied at the Drama and Film Acting Faculty of the Azerbaijan State Institute of Arts (1974-1978).

While studying in high school, he became a member of the People's Theater led by Mammadkamal Kazimov at the Khatai Palace of Culture. For a while, he worked at the Educational Theater, the Sumgayit State Drama Theater, the "Unfading Stars" theater of the Creativity Foundation, and the Baku Municipal Theater (1994-2024).

He taught stage speech at the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts.

He was also engaged in dubbing.

Honored Artist (2002) Rafig Ibrahimov died in 2024.
