Ogtay Aliyev was born in Irevan.

He studied at the Film and Drama Directing Department of the Azerbaijan State Institute of Arts (1987-1992).

He worked as an assistant director at the Yerevan State Azerbaijan Drama Theater (1983-1985), and as a director at the Baku City Department of Culture (1989-1994). He was the author and chief producer of many television projects.

Since 1998, he has been the co-founder and president of the “SOY” production company.

Laureate of the “Humay” National Award, the “Golden Fairy” Award, and Honored Cultural Worker (2020) Ogtay Aliyev passed away in 2023.

Producer Ogtay Aliyev is the son of actor Vidadi Aliyev and actress Elmira Ismayilova.
Producer Ogtay Aliyev is the husband of actress Dilara Aliyeva.
Producer Ogtay Aliyev is the brother of media specialist Elchin Alibayli.
