Nusrat Kasamanli (Nusrat Eyyubov) was born in the village of Girag Kaseman, Agstafa.

He studied at the Faculty of Journalism of Azerbaijan State University (1966). While in his second year of university, he was transferred to the correspondence department due to his acceptance to the positions of correspondent and literary worker in the “Baku” and “Baku” newspapers (1969).

After graduating from university, he worked as a referent and literary consultant in the Azerbaijan Writers’ Union (1978-1985). He was elected chairman of the Trade Union Committee in the Azerbaijan Writers’ Union (1981-1984), a member of the Society for the Protection of Historical and Cultural Monuments of Azerbaijan, a member of the Board of Directors at the VI and VII congresses of the Azerbaijan Writers’ Union, and chairman of the poetry council.

He worked as the editor-in-chief at the “Azerbaijanfilm” film studio (since 1985).

He began his artistic creativity in the early 60s and is the author of many books. Music has been composed for about 150 poems.

Nusrat Kasamanli died in Tabriz in 2003.

Poet and screenwriter Nusrat Kasamanli is the father of actor Rashad Kasamanli.
