Najiba Behbudova was born in Tbilisi.
At the age of nine, she became a member of the drama and dance clubs of the Nariman Narimanov club. In 1931, she came to Baku and entered the Hydrology Technical School. As a listener, she attended Bulbul's class at the Conservatory and mastered certain professional features of vocal performance. She even performed as a singer at concerts. However, in 1933, when her mother passed away, she returned to Tbilisi. After some time, she joined the troupe of the Tbilisi Azerbaijan Theater named after Mirza Fatali Akhundzade. At first, she performed as an invited actress in performances. In 1937-1939, she was on the theater's acting staff. In 1940, she was invited back to the Tbilisi Theater. During the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, she worked as an actress in the theater, and also did fruitful work in the field of art education of teenagers in a number of cultural and educational institutions. In 1947, she came to Baku and was accepted into the troupe of the Azerbaijan State Musical Comedy Theater.
Honored Artist (1974) Najiba Behbudova died in 1999 and was buried in the Yasamal cemetery.
