Nadir Mehdiyev was born in Baku.

 He studied at the Cinematography Department of the All-Union State Institute of Cinematography (1999).

Since 1990, he has worked at the “Azerbaijanfilm” film studio. In addition to films, he has shot numerous music videos and commercials.

He was the cameraman of the Russian-made series “Graf Krestovsky” (2004, director Ramiz Fataliyev), where he starred in an episodic role. For the film “Dolu” he was awarded the “Golden Fairy” award in the “Best Cameraman” nomination (2017), and the “Golden Eye” International Festival in the “Best Portrait” nomination (2009, Tbilisi). He is an Honored Worker of Culture (2017).

Cinematographer Nadir Mehdiyev is the son of director Huseyn Mehdiyev.
