Murad Abiyev was born in Baku.
He studied at Baku State University in International Relations (1997) and International Law (1999, Master's degree), and at the Higher Courses for Screenwriters and Directors in Russia (2010-2012).
He was awarded the Golden Fairy Award in the Best Short Feature Film nomination for the film "The Dog Drinking the Sea" (2018). He collaborates with "Narimanfilm".
