Israfil Aghazadeh was born in Baku.
He studied at the Baku Soviet Trade Technical School (1971-1974), the Cinematography Department of the All-Union State Institute of Cinematography (1980-1985, Alexander Galperin's workshop).
He worked as an assistant cameraman at the "Azerbaijanfilm" film studio (1977-1985), cameraman (1985-1996), and cameraman on Azerbaijani television (1994-1996).
In 1996, he became the president of the "Bachuan Cinema Company".
He was engaged in pedagogical activities at the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts (2012-2026).
