Isi Abbas oglu Malikzadeh was born in Agjabadi.
He studied at the Petrochemical Faculty of the Azerbaijan Industrial Institute (1952-1957).
Operator, surface equipment master at the “Azizbeyovneft” mines department (1957-1961), senior engineer, deputy head of department at the Bashkaz department of the Ministry of Communal Economy of Azerbaijan (1961-1966), head of the journalism department at the editorial office of “Ulduz” magazine, executive secretary (1966-1973), editor at the Azerbaijan State Publishing House, member of the script editorial board at the “Azerbaijanfilm” film studio (1974-1976), head of the prose department at the editorial office of “Azerbaijan” magazine (1976-1980), head of the prose department at the editorial office of “Ulduz” magazine (1980-1981), senior editor at the satirical film magazine “Mozalan” (1981-1983), editor-in-chief at the “Azerbaijanfilm” film studio (1983-1985), head of the literary section at the Azerbaijan State Academic Drama Theater (1988-1990), worked as the head of the journalism department of the magazine "Azerbaijan" (1994-1995). He was the chairman of the Karabakh branch of the Azerbaijan Cultural Foundation (since 1990).
He is the author of the books "The End of Longing" (1964), "Another Mother" (1969), "Fragile Wings" (1973), "I Sprinkled Water on the Streets" (1977), "Green Night" (1979), "Sunny Autumn" (1982), "Grandfather Oak" (1984), "The Legend of Gumushgol" (1987), "The Light of the Frosty Meadows" (1991), "The Novruz Holiday of the Wanderers" (1992).
Isi Malikzadeh died in 1995.
