Ilgar Jahangir (Ilgar Jahangirov) was born in the Jeyranbatan settlement of the Absheron region.

He studied at the Drama and Film Actor Faculty of the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Art (1989-1994).

He worked at the Baku Chamber Theater (1991-2009), the Azerbaijan State Theater of Young Spectators (2009), and the “Oda” Theater.

He starred in the foreign film producers’ films “Dreams” (2005, directed by Rehbar Ganbari / Iran), “Journey to Karabakh” (2005, directed by Levan Tutberidze / Georgia) as Fuzuli, the TV series “Russian Translation” (2006, directed by Alexander Chernyayev / Russia), “Raami” (2007, directed by Babek Shirinsifer / Iran), and “Conflict Zone” (2009, directed by Vano Burduli / Georgia) as an Azerbaijani officer.

He was awarded the "Golden Dervish" award for his role in the play "Aesop" (2006), and the "Best Male Role" award for the role of Oedipus in the play "Oedipus the King" at the Festival of Ancient Plays (2007, Crimea).

He is an Honored Artist (2002).
