Ilkin Misgarli was born in Salyan district.
He studied at the Drama and Film Acting Department of the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Art (2000-2004, Vagif Ibrahimoglu's course).
In high school, he was distinguished for his acting skills in KVN competitions. During his school years, he worked at the Salyan State Puppet Theater. From the second year of university, he worked at the Yugh Theater.
In 2002, he won the "Best Male Role" and "Best Performance" nominations in the "Debut" section of the Monoplay Festival held at the Union of Theater Workers.
