Ilham Namig Kamal

Ilham Namig Kamal (Ilham Ahmadov) was born in Baku. Originally from the Saritorpak neighborhood of Shamakhi.
He studied at the Drama and Film Actor Faculty of the Azerbaijan State Institute of Arts (1966-1970, Adil Isgandarov, Rza Tahmasib's course).
He first appeared on stage in Mammadaga Dadashov's drama club with the role of Rajab in the play "Anajan" (Yusif Azimzade) (1962). While a student, he played the main character in the comedy "George Danden" by Jean Baptiste Moliere. He worked at the Teaching Theater (1968), the Young Spectators Theater (1971-1972), the Academic Drama Theater (1972-1989, 1998-2008), the State Youth Theater (1989-1993), and the Musical Comedy Theater.
In 1993, he founded the "Ilham" Miniature Theater. He directed all the performances produced in this theater, where he was the director and artistic director, and played the main roles in most of them.
He is currently an actor of the Academic Musical Theater.
Since 1995, he has been teaching at the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Art, is the head of the department of musical theater and mass event director, professor (2009). He has starred in about a hundred plots of the satirical film magazine "Mozalan".
He is an Honored Artist (1982), People's Artist (2002), laureate of the "Shohrat" Order (2013), the "Senatkar" Order (2014), and the "Golden Dervish" Award (2000).
Actor Ilham Namig Kamal is the brother of actor Jafar Namig Kamal.
