Ilham Khanbudagov was born in Baku.
He studied at the Azerbaijan State Institute of Arts and the Lunacharsky Moscow State Theater Institute (1981, GITIS).
He worked as a teacher at AzKoncert, MosKoncert, Moscow State Circus and Variety School, an actor at the “Yarasa” cabaret theater in Moscow, and a teacher at the Moscow University of Culture and Arts. Since 2008, he has been an actor at the “Vedogon-Theater”.
He lives in Moscow. He has starred in Russian-made films.
