Heybat Hormat (Heybat Hormatzadeh) was born in Shamakhi.

He studied at the Azerbaijan State Institute of Arts.

He worked as an actor at the Mingachevir State Drama Theater for 20 years. He created the "Işıqçılar" Youth Theater in Mingachevir and directed it, staging performances. In 1974, he was invited to the Aghdam State Drama Theater. In the same year, he was awarded the "Best Young Actor" award. Then he worked at the Sumgayit State Musical Drama Theater (1989-1995).

He began writing poetry in childhood. His first poem was published in the "Yeni Shirvan" newspaper published in Shamakhi in 1956. He was a member of the "Young Sabirchilar" literary council operating in Shamakhi, and an actor at the Shamakhi Youth Theater (1968-1971). He continued his poetic creativity as a member of the Mingachevir city "Kur" Literary Union (1971-1989). In addition to the theater, he worked as a correspondent, department head, first deputy editor-in-chief in a number of newspapers. He was the founder and editor-in-chief of the "Umid Press" and "Shapalag" newspapers. He was a member of the "Beytus-Safa" literary council, the organ of the Shamakhi branch of the Azerbaijani Writers' Union.

As a journalist, he periodically prepared reports from the war zones in Karabakh.

Heybat Hormetzadeh, laureate of the "Golden Pen" Media Award, died in Shamakhi in 2017.
