Hagigat Rzayeva was born in the village of Darguba, Lankaran.

She performed in musical performances while studying at Maryam Bayramalibeyova's women's school in Lankaran, and from 1923 at the Pedagogical Technical School in Baku. She worked at the "Damga" Theater. While working in the theater, she studied at the mugham department of the Azerbaijan State Conservatory (1928-1932).

She was a soloist of the Opera and Ballet Theater, and was known as a performer of mugham and folk songs (1927-1952).

She taught at the Baku Music School named after Asaf Zeynalli.

She was one of the first Azerbaijani female singers to perform on the national stage.

Honored Artist (1940), People's Artist (1943) Hagigat Rzayeva died in 1969 and was buried in the Alley of Honor.

Actress, singer Hagigat Rzayeva is the mother of composer Azer Rzayev.
