Firangiz Alizadeh was born in Baku.

She studied at the Bulbul Music School and the Azerbaijan State Conservatory (1972, Gara Garayev's composition class / 1970, Urfan Khalilov's piano class).

She worked as Gara Garayev's assistant (1972-1974). Since 1974, she has been engaged in pedagogical activity at the Azerbaijan State Conservatory. In 1994, she was awarded the scientific degree of Candidate of Arts, and in 1998, the scientific title of Professor. In 1992, the Turkish state commissioned the creation of the ballet "Empty Cradle". The work was staged on the occasion of the opening of the Mersin Opera and Ballet Theater. Until 1997, she worked as a professor at the Mersin Opera and Ballet Theater and the Mersin Conservatory. In 1999, she was invited to Germany - the Berlin Academy of Arts ("Akademie der Künste"), where she worked as a composer, pianist and conductor until 2007.
She started playing the piano at the age of 5, and composed her first song at the age of 7: the song "Spring".
She is the author of instrumental works, concerts and other musical works of various sizes for various performing groups. She has 4 operas, 10 ballets, and 2 books.

Corresponding member of ANAS (2017), Professor (1999), Honored Artist of Arts (1990), People's Artist (2000). Laureate of the Order of "Glory" (2007), "Order of Honor" (2017), winner of the "Zirve" award (2011), UNESCO Artist for Peace (2007). Since 1979, she has been the secretary of the Board of Directors of the Azerbaijan Composers' Union.

Since 2007, she has been the chairman of the Azerbaijan Composers' Union.

Composer Firangiz Alizadeh is the wife of director Jahangir Zeynalli.
