Faig Aghayev was born in Baku.
He studied at the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts as a musical theater actor (1988-1993).
He won the competitions “Baku Payizi-88”, “Golden Autumn-89”, International “Vitebsk-90”, International “Yalta-92”, Klavdiya Shulzhenko “Kharkov-95” International Retro Song Competition, and the International Competition “Golden Hit - Mogilev-96”.
He is a laureate of the Humay National Prize (1999), Honored Artist (2000), People's Artist (2008).
