Elnur Mammadov was born in the village of Gulludara in Western Azerbaijan.

He studied at the Drama and Film Actor Faculty of the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Art (1994-1998).

During his studies, he played in several performances in the repertoire of the Academic National Drama Theater on mass stages and in various roles. He was an actor of the Yerevan State Azerbaijan Drama Theater (1994-1998). In 2002, he was appointed troupe director at the Academic National Drama Theater. In 2003, he worked at “SOY Production” LLC. In 2005, he was again appointed troupe director at the Academic National Drama Theater. In 2015, he was appointed chief administrator at the theater, and in 2016, he was again appointed troupe director.

At the Academic National Drama Theater, he directed Azer Mirzayev’s “The Last Lesson of the Year” and “Novruz is Coming,” which he staged himself.

He worked as a second director and assistant director at many state events.
